This American IPA has been brewed since 2009.

It was Sierra Nevada's first American IPA to become a staple product, and it became a new staple in the 29th year since the brewery's establishment.

At the time, it was an IPA that maximized the hop characteristics of Citra, such as tropical aromas and flavors, using the latest hop, Citra, which was released the previous year.

The name of this beer comes from the innovative dry-hopping equipment called "Hop Torpedo" developed by Ken Grossman and the brewers.

It is a stainless steel vessel with a capacity to hold 150 gallons (570L) of beer and 80 lbs (36kg) of whole hops.

The mechanism works by first filling the device with hops, then the beer sent from the fermentation tank slowly passes through it and returns to the fermentation tank.

Depending on the batch size, it passes through two vessels before returning to the tank and circulates for 4 days at a rate of 3 gallons (11L) per minute.

This excellent system allows the maximum flavor and aroma of the hops to be extracted without producing unnecessary bitterness.

With its fluffy white head and beautiful deep orange liquid, this beer explodes with wonderful citrus, pine, earthiness, pear, and tropical fruit aromas such as grapefruit, mango, and papaya from the glass.

Upon tasting, you first experience bready flavors and caramel-like sweetness from the malt, and then the hoppy character, initially smooth, quickly transforms into a spicy citrus, followed by a floral taste.

It has a refreshing mouthfeel that seems to melt in your mouth, with a medium body and a very creamy texture.

Crisp and pleasant finish.
