It was Sierra Nevada's first American IPA to become a flagship product and the first new flagship in 29 years since the brewery's establishment.

At the time, it was an IPA that maximized the hop characteristics of Citra, such as tropical aromas and flavors, using the latest hop, Citra, which was released the previous year.

The name of this beer comes from the groundbreaking dry-hopping equipment called "Hop Torpedo" developed by Ken Grossman and the brewers.

It is a stainless steel vessel with a capacity to hold 150 gallons (570 liters) of beer and 80 pounds (36 kg) of whole hops.

The mechanism is that the device is first filled with hops, and the beer sent from the fermentation tank slowly passes through it and returns to the fermentation tank.

Depending on the batch size, it passes through two vessels before returning to the tank and circulates for 4 days at a rate of 3 gallons (11 liters) per minute.

This excellent system maximizes the flavor and aroma of the hops without producing unnecessary bitterness.

This beer, with its beautiful deep orange color and fluffy white head, bursts with wonderful aromas of citrus, pine, earthiness, pear, and tropical fruits like grapefruit, mango, and papaya from the glass.

Upon tasting, you first perceive bready notes from the malt and caramel-like sweetness, and then the hoppy character, initially smooth, quickly transforms into a spicy citrus, followed by floral notes.A refreshing mouthfeel that seems to melt in your mouth, with a medium body and a very creamy texture.
