A refreshing taste of tropical fruit, white grape, passionfruit, and peach, thanks to 100% New Zealand hops

"U.S. Open Beer Championship 2021"
Gold medal winner in the New Zealand IPA category

This West Coast IPA uses 100% New Zealand hops and is characterized by a strong tropical fruit aroma, as well as flavors reminiscent of white grape, passionfruit, peach, and pink grapefruit.

Luponic Distortion is an IPA series that changes its recipe by experimenting with different hop combinations.

This version was realized with the generous cooperation of New Zealand hop farmers.

It is brewed with Nectaron, Nelson, Motueka, and Riwaka hops.

Riwaka is a very rare hop with limited distribution due to its difficulty in cultivation.

Brewers who are lucky enough to get their hands on it will surely be surprised by its unique aroma of pink grapefruit and passionfruit.

Motueka has become a commonly available hop recently, and Firestone Walker has been using it for several years, but for this project, we focused on bringing out its charm as much as possible.

While it doesn't have the flamboyant characteristics of Nelson or Nectaron, its lively lime and lemon flavors tie the overall taste together and tighten it up.

Finally, Nelson's tropical and white wine characteristics, Nectaron's passionfruit and citrus flavors, along with a dankness reminiscent of hops harvested in the Pacific Northwest, add depth to the taste.
