Firestone Walker Easy Jack (355ml)

Low alcohol content, yet rich in aroma and flavor, and fruity

Firestone Walker's classic Easy Jack changed its ABV from 4.5% to 4% in 2019.

Easy Jack's signature hop character has been further refined and is back again.

It was originally launched in the summer of 2014 as a seasonal limited edition product with the theme of "a session IPA that's a little different from the norm," with complex flavors carefully selected by Brewmaster Matt Brynildson from new varieties of hops from around the world.

However, as its popularity soared, it became difficult to obtain a stable supply of hops, and Easy Jack came to an untimely end shortly after its release.

The following year, in 2015, Brewmaster Matt travelled to the Hallertau region of Germany.

He negotiated with small family-run hop growers to ensure a steady supply of Mandarina Bavaria and Hull Melon hops, the primary hops in Easy Jack.

As a result of all these efforts, Easy Jack was once again enjoyed by people and became such a hit that they had difficulty keeping up with demand.

It features abundant aromas of citrus, melon and passion fruit.

The complex and rich aromas of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, melon and lush grass belie the low alcohol content.

When you put it in your mouth, it is full of fruity flavors of tangerine, lemon, passion fruit and a distinct bitterness of pine.

A cracker-like malt flavor underpins the hop flavor.

The finish is a lingering bitterness.

Just the right amount of carbonation and a very crispy mouthfeel.

Matt says:

"I didn't want to make a beer that was like a miniature IPA.

If you try to make an IPA sessionable by reducing the malt and hop flavors, it will just become bland.

Easy Jack is the result of using rich, flavorful hops to achieve the fruity flavor you'd expect from a true IPA.
