This was Sierra Nevada's first American IPA as a flagship product, and the first new standard product in 29 years since the brewery's establishment.

At the time, it was an IPA that maximized the hop character of Citra, such as tropical aromas and flavors, using Citra, the newest hop released the previous year.

The name of this beer comes from the innovative dry-hopping equipment called "Hop Torpedo" developed by Ken Grossman and the brewers.

It is a stainless steel vessel with a capacity of 150 gallons (570L) of beer and 80lbs (36kg) of whole hops.

The mechanism is that the device is first filled with hops, and the beer sent from the fermentation tank slowly passes through it and returns to the fermentation tank.

Depending on the batch size, it passes through two vessels before returning to the tank and continues to circulate for 4 days at a rate of 3 gallons (11L) per minute.

This is an excellent product that can maximize the flavor and aroma of hops without producing unnecessary bitterness.

This beer, with its beautiful deep orange color and fluffy white head, bursts with wonderful citrus, pine, earthiness, pear, and tropical fruit aromas such as grapefruit, mango, and papaya from the glass.

When you take a sip, you first feel the bready flavor and caramel-like sweetness derived from the malt, and then the hoppy sensation, which initially feels smooth, immediately transforms into a spicy citrus, followed by a floral taste.

A refreshing mouthfeel that seems to melt in your mouth, with a medium body and a very creamy texture.
