Finally, in 2019, Boat Shoes Hazy IPA officially joined the lineup as a regular product.

Regarding the name "Boat Shoes," Sean Albrecht, Karl Strauss's head brewer and the creator of Boat Shoes, says:

"When I was in the East Coast for CBC (Craft Brewers Conference), everyone in the city was wearing boat shoes, and the phrase 'boat shoes' stuck in my head.

Hazy IPA is a refreshing and easy-drinking beer, so I thought the name 'Boat Shoes' would be a perfect fit for that style.

Who wouldn't feel comfortable wearing boat shoes?" The refreshing citrus aromas of grapefruit and lemon, combined with fruity aromas like mango and pineapple, waft from the glass.

The taste, like the aroma, is led by citrus flavors, followed by the sweetness of fruit and a firm bitterness from the hops.
