A new San Diego-style IPA with "hop aromas that shine like the aurora."

What was previously a limited edition brew was added to the regular lineup in January 2016.

In San Diego, far from the Arctic Circle, it is naturally impossible to see the aurora (Aurora Borealis) shining in the night sky.

But San Diego has something that shines just as brightly as the Northern Lights.

It's an IPA.

San Diego is a mecca for beers that bring out the hop aroma and flavor to the fore, to the point that "beers that are called IPA outside of San Diego are called pale ales in San Diego."

Aurora Hoppyalis was brewed in homage to this city enveloped in the magic of hops.

With a base of pale malt and wheat and generous amounts of Simcoe, Mosaic, Amarillo, and Citra hops, this beer is what San Diego locals would call an IPA.

When poured into a glass, the liquid is orange-golden with an off-white head.

The aroma is dominated by tropical fruits and tangerine from the hops, with hints of pine and green grass.

The taste is also very tropical, with mango, passion fruit, citrus and pine flavors that delight the drinker one after another.

The finish is dry and crisp.

The medium carbonation makes it easy to drink and even gives it a refreshing feeling.

In contrast to Tower 10 IPA, which uses Cascade, Chinook, and Centennial hops to give it a classic bitterness and citrus aroma, this San Diego-style IPA puts tropical aromas at the forefront.

It became incredibly popular in California as soon as it was released, with many stores selling out within a day or two.

Under a cloudless, hoppy night sky, Aurora Hoppyalis will sparkle richly and impress anyone who drinks it.

Won a bronze medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival.
