A Unique Cider with a Blend of Traditional Spanish and New England Apple Ciders

Because European apples are difficult to obtain in the U.S., Shacksbury uses apple juice from Petritegi Sagardo, a cidery on the outskirts of San Sebastian, Spain, with whom Shacksbury has had a long-standing relationship.

The apple juice pressed at Petritegi Sagardo is fermented in huge chestnut wood barrels that have been in use for decades.

Then, the fermented juice is sent to Shacksbury in Vermont, where it is blended with apples harvested locally in New England to complete Arlo.

The taste created by these European and New England apples results in a one-of-a-kind cider, made only from the natural taste of the fruit, without any added sweetness or flavor.

In addition to the sweet aroma of apples, a unique character can also be felt.

The taste strongly reflects the aromatic characteristics, with a well-balanced enjoyment of apple sweetness, acidity, and a funky flavor.

It's a very dry drink with a crisp, sharp, and refreshing finish.
