Excellent balance of fruity sweetness and tartness, using apples and Canadian "Saskatoon berries"
Michigan meets Saskatchewan.
A cross-border collaboration brimming with the terroir of America and its "Northern Neighbour," Canada.
Cider made with Michigan apples and Canadian "Saskatoon berries."
Saskatoon berries, native to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in central Canada, are pome fruits just like apples. Despite their classification, they have a appearance and taste similar to blueberries.
Following Almar Orchard's scrumpy-making rules, freshly pressed Saskatoon berries were blended and fermented with apples from their own orchard, earning it the name "cuvée," reminiscent of fine wine.
The glass reveals a deep, pinkish amber color, with aromas of floral notes, apple, pleasant acidity, and red fruits.
Upon tasting, a robust fruitiness reminiscent of cherries is immediately noticeable, followed by a balanced moderate sweetness of apple with earthy undertones and medium carbonation.
It has a smooth mouthfeel and a dry finish, evocative of tannic astringency.
This cider encapsulates the joy of sharing a drink with family, friends, acquaintances, and people from all walks of life around the world.
