This creation boasts a harmonious blend of tartness from berries, notes reminiscent of berry jam, and funky aromas from wild yeast.

Allagash's home state of Maine, in particular, is renowned as a major blueberry producer, with most of the blueberries distributed nationwide originating from Maine.

Using these two types of berries generously, Coolship Duet is a spontaneously fermented beer crafted with a commitment to traditional methods.

First, the wort is poured into a shallow wooden vat called a coolship, where it cools and absorbs airborne wild yeasts, allowing the beer to ferment spontaneously.

After two years of aging in oak barrels, freshly harvested raspberries and blueberries are added, and the beer is aged for another three months.

This masterpiece is a harmonious blend of the sweet and sour notes from the berries, nuances reminiscent of berry jam, and the funky aromas (often compared to a barnyard) from the wild yeast fermentation.
