Brewery: Los Angeles Ale Works
Style: Sour
The latest in our fruit sour series, featuring guava and sea salt. Aromas like ripe guava. The first sip brings a fruity, tart acidity, reminiscent of strawberries and pears. A subtle saltiness finishes it off.
Unlike the barrel-aged sour ales Los Angeles Aleworks has brewed before, this Sour Ale is brewed using Sourvisiae yeast, obtained from Lallemand Brewing, a company specializing in yeast research and development.
This unique yeast is revolutionary because it produces a large amount of lactic acid during fermentation, making it possible to easily create sour beer without wild yeast fermentation or kettle souring!
For secondary ingredients, we generously used guava harvested from local farms.
Upon opening the can, you'll be greeted by a fruity aroma, just like ripe guava.
On the palate, you'll experience a zesty, fruity, and tart acidity, reminiscent of strawberries and pears, with a subtle saltiness on the finish.
