Made with freshly picked Asian pears from local farmers. Juicy notes reminiscent of peach and apple with a woody aroma, followed by a crisp, fruity acidity and a subtle pear sweetness. An exquisite masterpiece with a superb balance of firm acidity and umami.
The Fated Farmer series embodies Trillium's concept of "connecting agriculture, brewing, and the communities that inhabit the New England region."
All of the wild ales in this series use malt from Valley Malt, produced locally in Massachusetts.
They are fermented with local wild yeast in 500L puncheon barrels and aged for about half a year, then freshly harvested fruits are added for a second fermentation.
The theme is to explore how the natural agricultural products and wild ale combine to create new flavors.
This wild ale uses freshly picked Asian pears sourced from Lookout Farm in Massachusetts. It has a slightly hazy, straw color and a crisp, light body.
It greets you with juicy notes reminiscent of peach and apple and a woody pear aroma, followed by a crisp, fruity acidity and a subtle pear sweetness.
It is an exquisite masterpiece with a superb balance of firm acidity and umami.
