The name "Sabre-Toothed Squirrel" originated when founder Jonathan Porter found an article in Wired Magazine about the first discovery of a saber-toothed squirrel fossil.

At the time, Porter was in the midst of developing a hoppy amber ale, and he immediately felt that he had found the perfect name after reading the article.

He quickly returned home and announced, "I've named the hoppy amber ale I'm brewing," and at that moment, Sabre-Toothed Squirrel was born.

When poured into a glass, aromas of pine and sage overflow.

These are immediately followed by fruity aromas of lemon, pineapple, and mango, as well as sweet, aromatic caramel derived from malt and juicy plum-like aromas.

The flavor, like the aroma, features a balanced coexistence of pleasant bitter sage, juicy plum, and sweet caramel and chocolate-like flavors.

The body is medium, with a drinkability that belies its alcohol content.

The finish is light and crisp.

A brew with an excellent balance of hop bitterness and malt bitterness.

Note) A squirrel that may have existed around the Cretaceous period, with abnormally developed incisors.

The character Scrat from the animated movie "Ice Age" closely resembles a saber-toothed squirrel.
