Barrel Theory was founded by a brewer who trained at Surly Brewing, also in Minnesota, before striking out on his own and establishing his new brewery in the state.

Despite being a young microbrewery in its fifth year, it's gaining momentum and has been featured in many media outlets.

Fair State collaborated with Barrel Theory to brew this Hazy IPA, a style Barrel Theory excels at.

It uses the classic hops Strata, Citra, and Simcoe Cryo.
