As Hazy IPAs exploded in popularity worldwide, the unfortunate Columbus hop, whose existence was almost forgotten, is once again in the spotlight with this IPA.

In the early days of craft beer, Columbus was a very important and major hop.

Not only was it suitable for use in the bittering stage to impart bitterness to beer, but its dense, magnificent aromas of marijuana and orange captivated many brewers and drinkers.

However, many new varieties, including Citra, were subsequently developed, and Columbus gradually began to be treated as an outdated hop.

As its frequency of use decreased, it naturally spent more time in storage, and during that time, its wonderful aroma deteriorated, leading to a vicious cycle where it started emitting unpleasant onion and garlic-like aromas.
