A smooth and juicy IPA released to commemorate Belching Beaver's 6th anniversary.
A beer released to commemorate Belching Beaver's 6th anniversary.
It was originally based on a popular beer at the tasting room.
The origin of this beer, it is said, was a mistake by Belching Beaver's Brewmaster, Troy Smith.
Troy was supposed to brew a Double IPA, but there wasn't enough dry hopping, and it was almost a failure, but Troy brilliantly turned it around.
By adding orange and vanilla flavors to make a Milkshake DIPA, the superb smooth and juicy Fall of Troy was born, with wonderful orange and vanilla aromas and flavors.
The glass is filled with the sweet aroma of orange and vanilla, reminiscent of a Creamsicle (note).
The taste is also strongly like a Creamsicle, with orange and vanilla, but compared to the aroma, the bitterness of the hops is more prominent than the sweetness.
It has a medium body, almost full-bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel.
It has sweetness, but the orange character is refreshing and creates a dry finish.
A very drinkable beer with an excellent balance of sweetness and bitterness.
Note: A popular American popsicle with vanilla ice cream coated with flavored ice cream such as orange.
