Fruity flavor from hops and mellow taste from wheat

Modern Times' classic Hoppy Wheat.

While there is a distinct fruitiness from the hops, the mellow mouthfeel of the wheat makes this beer sessionable.

A hybrid style typical of Modern Times, combining the hop aroma of an IPA with the easy-drinking quality of a wheat ale.

Two types of hops are used, Citra and Amarillo, with more emphasis on dry hopping than bittering.

The citrus and tropical fruit aromas from the Citra hops are the key to Fortunate Islands.

In addition, the grapefruit and pine nuances of Amarillo hops are added, resulting in a hop aroma that is just as strong as an IPA.

The malts used are 2-row, Wheat Malt and Caravienna, with Wheat Malt accounting for 60% of the total.

This gives it a slightly nutty character and a mellow mouthfeel and body.

Overall it is dry, but the slight sweetness of the Caravienna malt adds an accent.

When poured into a glass, it has a cloudy yellow color with a thick white head.

Bursting aromas of citrus, mango, tangerine and passion fruit burst from the glass.

When you put it in your mouth, the fruity taste is indeed prominent, but it is also moderately dry and has a bitter taste like green grass.

The finish is also dry and bitter.

The extremely soft mouthfeel and 5% alcohol content make it so easy to drink that you'll want to keep drinking.

The name Fortunate Islands (also known as the Isles of the Blessed) refers to a group of legendary islands in the Atlantic Ocean, said to be the home of heroes from Greek mythology.

According to Greek mythology, only those with souls pure enough to be reincarnated three times and go to heaven all three times are allowed to land on the Fortunate Islands.
