While boasting a distinct hop-derived fruitiness, the smooth mouthfeel from the wheat makes this beer exceptionally sessionable.

It's a quintessential Modern Times hybrid style, combining the hop aroma of an IPA with the drinkability of a wheat ale.

Two types of hops, Citra and Amarillo, are used, with an emphasis on dry hopping rather than bittering.

The citrus and tropical fruit aromas from the Citra hops are the heart of this Fortunate Islands.

Further complemented by the grapefruit and pine nuances of Amarillo hops, the result is an intense hop aroma that rivals any IPA.

The malt bill consists of 2-row, Wheat Malt, and Caravienna, with Wheat Malt making up 60% of the total.

This contributes a subtle nutty character and a smooth mouthfeel and body.

It's generally dry, but the slight sweetness from the Caravienna malt provides an accent.

When poured into a glass, it displays a hazy yellow color with a thick white head.

Bursting citrus, mango, tangerine, and passion fruit aromas leap from the glass.

Upon tasting, the fruitiness is indeed at the forefront, but it's balanced by a moderate dryness and a refreshing, grassy bitterness.

The finish is dry and bitter.

The remarkably soft mouthfeel and 5% ABV make it incredibly easy to drink, encouraging you to keep refilling your glass.

The name Fortunate Islands (also known as the Isles of the Blessed) refers to legendary islands in the Atlantic, said to be the dwelling place of heroes from Greek mythology.

According to Greek mythology, only those with souls pure enough to reach heaven three times after three reincarnations are permitted to set foot on the Fortunate Islands.
