This Super Cluster, described as "a Citra supernova exploding into the galaxy," is brewed with an unusually large amount of Citra hops.

According to Lagunitas Brewmaster Jeremy Marshall, this beer was initially brewed in the Lagunitas taproom as a specialty beer for staff, quickly becoming the brewery staff's favorite.

They continued to drink it for many years, but eventually decided to expand its presence, and it finally appeared as a limited release in the fall of 2018.

It pours a clear, deep golden color with a white head.

The aroma of Citra hops is intense, with distinct notes of eucalyptus, pine, Douglas fir (note), vine-ripened tomatoes, and subtle hints of grapefruit, lemon, and tropical fruits.

On the palate, tropical fruit and citrus notes from the hops, along with orange peel flavors, come strongly to the forefront, with a subtle caramel-like maltiness also present.

The refreshing citrus and hop bitterness are in exquisite balance.

Despite its substantial medium body and 8% alcohol content, it has a dry finish.

It's an excellent beer that delivers satisfaction while being remarkably drinkable for its high alcohol.
