Belgian yeast, banana, apple, orange from wheat, fruity and spicy, light citrus notes
Belgian-style beer is the pinnacle of the art of brewing.
Through sophisticated brewing techniques, blended yeasts, and unique adjuncts such as coriander and orange peel, Belgian beer has attained a status in Belgium similar to that of wine in other countries.
PranQster pays homage to this art, being a Belgian-style golden ale brewed with a blend of traditional yeasts.
When poured into a glass, it has a slightly cloudy gold to orange color.
It offers notes of Belgian yeast, banana, apple, and orange from wheat, a slight yogurt-like fruitiness and spiciness, and light citrus notes.
As the temperature rises, honey-like sweetness from apples and a full-bodied character come to the forefront.
While it has the fruity nuances of yeast typical of Belgian styles, it also possesses a crispness that makes it as easy to drink as a Pilsner.
The style name "Golden Ale" might only evoke a vague image of what kind of beer it is, but this name was coined by beer writer Michael Jackson when describing Duvel from the Duvel-Moortgat brewery.
When Duvel was first created, it was a dark ale, but in 1970, after three years of preparation, it was changed to a bright golden-colored beer.
Since then, it has gained worldwide popularity as the pinnacle of golden ales.
This trend also influenced the American craft beer scene, leading to the brewing of numerous Belgian-style golden ales in the United States.
And among them, one of the most acclaimed beers is PranQster.
It has won seven medals in competitions, including a silver at the Great American Beer Festival.
