Deschutes The Abyss (2022) (355ml)

A barrel-aged beer aged in three different types of barrels and blended together. Rich malt flavor and complex layered flavors.

Released every November, Barrel-aged Imperial Stout is Deschutes' signature barrel-aged beer, winning numerous awards and medals every year.

Brewed with licorice, cherry bark and molasses, the rich malt flavour is enhanced.

It also helps define the complex layers of flavor that become apparent as the beer warms in the glass.

The yeast used in brewing is Trappist yeast, which can ferment up to a high alcohol content of 11.7%.

In addition, new oak barrels, bourbon barrels, and red wine barrels are used for aging, and the resulting product is exquisitely blended to achieve this magical flavor.
