Flavors of plum and black cherry give way to cacao, with a finish of berry tartness. Sour ale fermented and aged with wild yeast in oak foeders, then further aged in whiskey barrels.

First, a sour ale fermented and aged with wild yeast in oak foeders is transferred to Leopold Bros whiskey barrels, where blackberries are added for several months of additional aging.

Strong dark fruit aromas and flavors are present, with a hidden cacao character, finishing with berry tartness.

When poured into a glass, aromas of dark fruit and whiskey waft up, joined by faint notes of cocoa and oak.

The aroma is reminiscent of chocolate-covered cherries.

The taste, like the aroma, emphasizes dark fruit flavors and tartness, such as cherry, plum, and pomegranate, blended with a subtle chocolate-like sweetness.

It is medium-bodied with a silky smooth mouthfeel.

A pleasant tartness lingers, making it surprisingly drinkable for its 9.6% alcohol content.

This is released in small quantities year-round as part of the "Barrel Cellar Blend" series.
