This Porter is also a beer that embodies the history of Founders.

Porter has been in the lineup as a seasonal brew since the company's founding in 1997.

In 2001, the recipe was revised, resulting in a major change in flavor.

However, around 2005, the brewery was growing so rapidly that production could not keep up, and they were forced to discontinue production of this beer along with Imperial Stout.

They prioritized increasing production of popular brews like Dirty Bastard and Centennial IPA.

"But when we moved to our new premises in November 2007, we made the decision to bring back Porter and Imperial Stout," says co-founder Dave Engbers.

“Plus, Porter is back as a staple product, not a limited edition.

This was because he felt that the Porter style was gaining more attention than before at the time.

At the time, we were selling beer mainly on the East Coast, but there were many porter lovers in New England and the Mid-Atlantic (the central states of the United States facing the Atlantic Ocean, from north to south: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, West Virginia, and Virginia).

We reintroduced them to Porter and sales have been growing ever since.

"Porter has played an essential role in Founders' growth, with sales increasing 85% in 2012 compared to the previous year.

When poured into a glass, the silky black liquid is topped with a dark brown head.

The aroma is mild, with notes of chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut and vanilla.

When you put it in your mouth, the gentle sweetness of malt spreads gently along with a fragrant roasted flavor like espresso.

There are also hints of prunes, caramel and milk chocolate.

The finish is rounded off with a toasty cocoa note.
