Firestone Walker Mind Haze (568ml)

A Hazy IPA bursting with hop-derived citrus, grassy, and pine resin aromas. Juicy yet refreshing on the palate.

This is Firestone Walker's first Hazy IPA.

It took a year of trial and error to perfect this Firestone Walker-esque Hazy style.

The inspiration came from a Weizenbock that Brewmaster Matt encountered during a visit to Gutmann Brewery in Germany.

Weizenbock is a traditional German beer style brewed for over 50 years, characterized by its cloudy appearance, creamy mouthfeel, and tropical banana aroma.

Inspired by this historic beer, Matt and his team set out to create a beer that "everyone would recognize as a Hazy IPA, yet also highlight Firestone Walker's unique originality."

At the same time, they pursued a quality that would stand alongside Firestone Walker's other IPAs.

Matt explains that Mind Haze's haze doesn't come from yeast or starch residue like typical Hazy style beers, but rather from the natural action of proteins, tannins, and enzymes.

This naturally hazy beer not only created the rich mouthfeel and texture that everyone expects from a Hazy IPA, but also succeeded in producing a high-quality Hazy IPA.

The name "Mind Haze" was chosen to embody two meanings: the fog that perpetually blankets California's Central Coast, and the idea of confusing and clouding what constitutes a Hazy IPA.

When poured into a glass, hop-derived grassy and resinous aromas burst forth.

Immediately after, citrus zest aromas like lemon and orange peel, and juicy tropical fruit aromas follow, with faint sweet caramel and cracker biscuit malt aromas also detectable.

Upon the first sip, tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and lychee spread, accompanied by a firm yet soft bitterness reminiscent of grass and resin, creating an exquisite balance between fruitiness and mild bitterness.

It has a medium body, with a clean and dry finish.

Juicy yet refreshing on the palate.
