A hugely popular product resurrected by fan vote! Featuring five types of hops and green tea leaves. A unique green tea and herbaceous flavor with fruity notes of peach and apricot from the hops.
Following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, to support Japan's recovery, Mitch Steele, Stone's brewmaster at the time, Bryan Baird of Baird Brewing in Shizuoka Prefecture, and Toshi Ishii of Ishii Brewing in Guam (who gained diverse experience as a brewer at Stone for three years from 1998, completed the current recipe for "Yona Yona Ale" as COO of Yo-Ho Brewing after returning to Japan, and later established Ishii Brewing in Guam) collaborated on a charity beer. This resulted in the unique "Sencha IPA," brewed with five types of hops and sencha green tea from Shizuoka.
After a limited revival in 2015, this year it’s making another comeback due to popular fan demand! This year’s recipe features five types of hops from the northern and southern hemispheres, plus green tea leaves, resulting in a distinct herbaceous flavor.
Hop-derived aromas of mango and pineapple are combined with the unique dill-like herbal scent characteristic of Sorachi Ace hops.
The herbal notes, green tea, and fruity hop flavors are all wonderfully balanced.
Upon tasting, the aroma of green tea first fills the nose, followed by prominent hop flavors of peach, apricot, and mango.
This level of perfection is sure to delight fans who have been eagerly awaiting its return! So, drain your glass and say "Mou Ippai!" (one more!)
